Good morning friends. I want to invite you to our new church that pastor Tony Costa recently started. It’s a nondenominational church in New Alexandria, 25 minutes from Jeannette.

We currently have a small group, however everyone is friendly, you can worship In peace and embrace every bit of the word of the lord.

Pastor Tony’s style of worship & service is very unique to me. He doesn’t pontificate so as to tell anyone how to or you should. Pastor Tony teaches, fills in the missing pieces of one’s wonder and fills in the missing pieces where one may not be sure about certain meanings in the word.

I have a van in which I can shuttle to & from service every Sunday.

**Pick up & drop off location is in Jeannette 15644 at the corner of Baughman Ave. & Patterson right next to the Cosmic Bowling & across from Churchills restaurant.

The lot is open and available to the public.

Service is from 10:30-11:30am on Sunday. Shuttle from Jeannette leaves for service at 10am.

Please feel free to call/ text me to secure a ride to service. 412-983-2793 cell.

NEW ALEXANDRIA -- It may not have a steeple or an ornate facade, but the former Reformed Presbyterian Church has earned its place in the history of this small community along the Loyalhanna Creek.

The more than 130 years of history embodied by the red brick structure at 214 Church St. was duly recognized Saturday, with the ceremonial presentation of an historic building plaque issued by the Derry Area Historical Society.

The bronze plaque is the 28th to be awarded since 2000, when the society began spotlighting older buildings within the Derry Area School District that have retained at least 85 percent of their original architecture--including walls, windows, flooring and trim.

According to Evelyn Ruffing, who oversees the program for the society, the plaques represent an effort to "seek out our historical buildings and try to save them, to make the people who own them and the community be proud of that history."

Ruffing noted the 1870 New Alexandria church is a typical and well-preserved example of the solid buildings that were erected in that period by rural Presbyterian congregations.

"The early Presbyterian churches were a box with a gabled roof in front and tall windows," she said, pointing out that same pattern is evident at another older area church, the Old Salem Church north of New Derry.
